Hi, which value are you using for $max_requests in amavisd.conf? Maybe it's too high, default is 20.
http://www.ijs.si/software/amavisd/amavisd-new-docs.html#max_requests describes how to set $max_requests depending on $sa_mail_body_size_limit from spamassassin.
