Hi,

I have been using amavisd-new on CentOS for years now. What you need in 
order to resolve all (most) of the dependencies is to use the rpmforge 
repository. They seem to have pretty much all you need.

Another thing I find incredibly useful is a package called cpan2rpm, wich 
lets you install "regular" CPAN packagesas rpm based packages.

I hardly ever ran into problems with this setup!
