-public private ambit
there appears to be a few days delay between messages being sent & received
by subscribers and showing up in the mail archive, so testing
the commands X-No-Archive: yes or Restrict: no-external-archive (with and
without additional meaningful headers) is problematic. As a newbie I don't
really want to be sending loads of test messages, well not before a brief
intro anyway

-intro
MM post grad student from events and fine/public art background. various
projects cooling on the back burner much of which originally inspired if not
actually involoving digital interactions.

please find below a plug for one of the warmer ones, hope it's not too off
topic
believe I read somewhere that the ambits topic of the month is curation so
perhaps contemplation of an actual opportunity may help stimulate debate.
please note that Free Gallery does have the resources to be a flagship new
media exhibition space, but alternative ideas on how to go about selecting
exhibitors can be realised
e.g. the potential for "networked curation" for a physical space can be
explored (or whatever)

CURATOR* / PROGRAMMER WANTED
DEADLINE: 15th DECEMBER

Free Gallery is seeking applications and nominations for the above voluntary
position.

Free Galley is holding an open-to-all recruitment campaign to find an
individual(s) or team(s) to select exhibitors for the relaunched &
refurbished gallery.

Previous experience or geographic location is unimportant.

The successful candidate (or candidates) will possess interesting, perhaps
very unconventional ideas on how to approach programming an exhibition
space.

If that sounds like someone you know, why not nominate them? Anonymously if
you like.

Applications are equally welcome from both individuals, informal groupings
and organisations.

This is a non-hypothetical ideas competition as there is a growing pile of
proposals needing attention.
Sponsorship, PR and venue management are all in place, the curator(s) MERELY
HAS TO PICK THE SHOWS.**

Applications and nominations should be received by Dec 15th and should be no
larger than an A4 sheet of paper
(type, handwriting, diagrams, illustrations & postcards all welcomed!).

Please include telephone number and email address where possible.
send to
Curators Wanted, Free Gallery, 31 Chisholm St, Glasgow, G1 5HA, Scotland

Nominations and applications via email are also welcomed - entries should be
printable on an A4 sheet(or thereabouts)
send to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

*curator / programmer / selector / picker / whatever - it is anticipated
that lucky applicants / nominees may prefer to define their own role (both
in title and scope), whether at time of application or some later point.

**Although relevant suggestions or activity to affect the form, quantity,
quality etc. of proposals received is welcomed as are entirely different
systems of receiving indications of interest from potential exhibitors.

## please bring this exciting opportunity to the attention of anyone you
feel may find it of interest ##
