"The world makes its own music, but we rarely listen with naive ears." - quote from the site. Also, it's not online but in reference to Zoe's question about audio archives as medium I'm reminded of Philip Jeck's "Vinyl Requiem" - performance for 180 dansette record players, was on at the Tramway a while back. There was a piece Ken Goldberg did a while back (although documentation is no longer online), consisted of a black box sitting in the corner of an empty gallery. The box was connected online, and was basically a "sleeping" computer. When somebody accessed its URL, it woke up and briefly activated its cooller fan creating a gentle breathing sound in the gallery and then went back to sleep. ------------------------------------------------- a m b i t : networking media arts in scotland post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] info: send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and write "info ambit" in the message body -------------------------------------------------
