---------------- LUX COLLECTIONS TECHNICIAN 20K pa pro rata (0.4) 2 days a week 11 month contract with possible renewal Enthusiastic skilled film and video technician with experience of working with artists needed to join a small team to take responsibility for the technical support of the LUX collection of artists� film and video and maintain the equipment used to service it. Duties will include Care and maintenance of the LUX collection Advising on technical standards for new acquisitions Liasing with artists on technical matters relating to their work Preparation of exhibition and promotional videos and DVDs Care and maintenance of LUX film and video equipment (including linear edit suite Beta/Digibeta/DVCam/Umatic/SVHS, steenbeck, RTI film checker, video and 16mm film projectors, G4) Advising on the technical aspects of LUX projects Essential Person specification Knowledge of film production and exhibition technologies Knowledge of video production processes Experience of linear editing systems Experience of film handling and evaluation Experience of working with film and video artists Knowledge of Mac platform systems Good communicator and team worker Self-motivation and ability to manage own time effectively Ability to work under pressure to deadlines Interest and knowledge of experimental film and video LUX: Based around a unique collection of artists' film and video LUX seeks to support and promote contemporary and historical artists' moving image work, and those who make it, through distribution, exhibition, publishing and research.
