Date: Monday 20.05.02. Place: BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly, London W1. Shooting Live Artists is a unique partnership between The BBC, The Arts Council of England, The Studio of the North and b.tv. Shooting Live Artists is a radical new commissioning project that opens up new creative combinations for contemporary live art, popular culture, the internet and new, emerging technologies. The commissioned work is disseminated through the BBCi website broadening the audience for radical contemporary art and ideas. The Shooting Live Artists 01/2 Commissions realised new work from some of the UK's leading and emerging live and media artists: Blast Theory, Forced Entertainment, desperate optimists, Lisa Watts, Brain McClave, George Chakravarthi and Lisa Wesley. To view The Shooting Live Artists 01/2 online media arts works please go to: http://www.bbc.co.uk/arts/shootinglive Shooting Live Artists 02/3 is now open for proposals and is offering artists and media producers the opportunity to produce bold and original live and mediated convergence artwork. You can apply for up to 10k production finance and you will also receive BBCi website guidance. At this special BAFTA Interactive event you can meet the commissioning partners and some of the previously commissioned teams will present examples of their work and explain the ideas behind their projects. You will also have a unique opportunity to discuss your ideas with the commissioning team and find out the latest information for the next round of commissions. The deadline for proposals for the Shooting live Artists 02/3 Commissions is the end of July 2002. Tickets for the event are at the special reduced rate of 5.00.
