Curated by Quebecois installation and sound-artist Martin Ttreault,
Turntable Hell brings together for the first time nine of the world's most
radical turntablists. They are artists who have dismantled their decks
along with all received notions of music, who play not only with records,
but with dust, debris and din They are an ad hoc orchestra whose cut and
paste, scorched-earth virtuosity combines with surface noise and ambient
improv against a backdrop of wild video collage.

The performers are Japanese improv maestro Otomo Yoshihide, who is no
stranger to Stirling. American noise composer Marina Rosenfeld,
installation and sound artist Janek Schaefer and lo-fi maverick Lepke B who
has been commissioned with funds from the PRS Foundation to create a new
vinyl based work especially for this tour. Steven Nobele and Martin NG
complete the line-up with a video mixdown from Ben Drew.
