Hi,

Do any of you MOO? Regularly enter MUCKs? or MUSHs?

Do you spend an inordinate amount of time gaming online? Do you regularly adopt a character name to indulge in computer mediated chat?

If any of the above is relevant I'd really like to hear from you. I am working on a paper that is looking to draw connecting lines between narrative, immersion and interactivity. As part of the initial research I have put a (very) brief questionnaire online to primarilly get a feel for how users perceive their online environments but also to identify individuals or groups who would be open to further questionning over the summer.

Anyone familiar with lambdaMOO may like to note that I have a suite of rooms there and intend to hold an informal party for respondents - a kind of VR focus group, if you like.

The survey can be found at http://www10.brinkster.com/narrative/

More details about the paper (inc abstract) an be found at http://www.dcs.napier.ac.uk/~michaelb/

There's also a mail link there for those who are curious enough to get in touch directly.

All Good Things,

Michael Begg
