The history of Third Eye Centre/CCA is not quite as straightforward
as that. As far as I'm aware, the Scottish Arts Council own the
building, and have since the
Third Eye Centre was established.

Artists were indeed involved in setting up the Third Eye Centre,
including playwrights, authors and others from a broad range of
backgrounds. Comparing CCA with GOMA is not really very useful in my
opinion: GOMA was Julian Spalding's last populist gesture as Director
of Glasgow Museums, and has a very different origin and remit to that
of CCA/Third Eye Centre.

On the question of Defence industry conferences at CCA - I agree with
others that more information would be useful. How did you hear about
it, Gair?
