Title: eartours tues 10/12/02
a good night out in anyones language
Tues 10/12/02 8.00-12.00
CCA6 2/1
eartours
an irregular evenings trawl through the densely wooded thicket of musical
presentation

eartours presents:

'Unplugboy' aka Daniel Weaver
live cello - input - laptop
having released with the likes of Stock, Hausen and Walkman, Toshimaru
Nakamura, GOMMORRAhh, and been almost constantly on the go working with a
multitude of performance and dance groups as well as organising the cracking
alectro_ecoustic in Manchester, this is indeed a rare chance to experience
this intricate
cello and laptop set.
"I put a small cello through an assault (or seduction) of houshold
implements and electronic processes to coax out characters usually denied a
voice from such an instrument. Think of everything you hate about cellos and
precious classic music behaviour and rejoice in its destruction."

The madness of Japanese TV is brought to you care of Vermillion Pleasure
Night. Episodes from this cult japanese series (a touch Paul Mcarthy, a
touch Mike Kelley, a touch Dom Jolly) will be screened to
show what channel 5 could have been. And if you don't speak japanese then
its probably even funnier.

Forget digital glitch, remember Wilkie Bard and Harry Champion as
the sounds of real static from a century ago are dragged kicking and
screaming into the 21st. Barry Burns spins such music hall classics as 'The
Balmy Whistler', 'The Old Bull and Bush' and 'You can't make music with
that'

tonight is your night to interact, with a video installation by Glasgow
based artist/musician Steven Dickie, and a screening of a selection of web
based video/animation that shows just what we  56k modemers are missing out
on in the land of broadband. On the night let us know of any sites you feel
need to be seen.

in between times sit back, relax and tap your feet to the eartours sounds
