Discussion of the potential war can only be a good thing, and the emails sent to the list about the demo etc etc have a valid place in a community (Online or otherwise). However ironically I now find myself in the strange position whereby I think Adinda’s mail is maybe too OT, this is after all an arts orientated list. Please nobody take this as a personal attack either on Adinda or on the demo (Which I will not be attending), but there does seem to me to be a big difference between publicizing a demo or advertising freebies or asking about hosts etc. and having an online debate on a non arts issue.
Personal opinion, bring on the announcements, freebies, OT jokes but actual discussion of politics as referred to in Adinda’s mail is maybe a shade too far? I do however think the current debate on the uses of Ambit is working well.
