They have been playing live together for two years and have appeared at Rotations in Manchester, Termite Club in Leeds, Sprawl in London, and supported To Rococo Rot in Newcastle.

HERR FRIENDENBERG Herr Friendenberg are: Anne-Marie Copestake (5 Piece Horse Family) Drums Combining the purely improvised with pre-empted structures the trio fuse non
glitch laptop, acoustic merriment, live samples and a library of obscure
recordings to draw the listener into their fidgety world of psychodrama and off
kilter rhythms.
242.PILOTS – LIVE IN BRUXELLES 242.pilots – Live in Bruxelles DVD (carpark records) was winner of the Image Award at Transmediale International Media Festival 2003 in Berlin. Utilizing their own custom software created with nato.0 + 55 programming environment, 242.pilots improvise rich, layered works in real-time as soloists, in duo, or as a trio. The performance software created by HC Gilje, Lukasz Lysakowski, and Kurt Ralske (formerly of 4AD group Ultra Vivid Scene and late 90s electronic ouffit Cathars) allows video to be controlled in a fluid and expressive manner. The Live in Bruxelles DVD includes one improvised trio piece (with audio by Justin Bennett), three solo pieces, and a short documentary on 242.pilots.
CATHODE / ROB KENNEDY – SUNDOWNING (premier screening) ‘Sundowning’ is a video work created by artist Rob Kennedy using the sound from Cathode track ‘Sundowning’ as a video input source. Cathode is an electronic music project based in Newcastle. Cathode releases include two 7" singles for Static Caravan ‘Ex Cat’ and ‘Chad Valley’, an EP for 555 Recordings ‘The World and Back’ and upcoming collaborations with Catmobile Records and Expanding Records. Rob Kennedy is a participating artist in Zenomap Projects Programme at the Venice Bienniale 2003.
CALUM STIRLING – LANDSTYLUS SURVEY #2 Landstylus is a project and series of ongoing artworks by
Glasgow artist Calum Stirling exploring the creation of sound from the
topography of Landscape. Survey#2 is a audio visual journey around a computer
generated model of Blair Atholl in the Highlands. In the work Cellist Sonia
Cromarty is filmed playing a score of a route through the area devised by
changing topographical contour heights into pitch notation. The work was
inspired in part by the audio recording process pioneered by Edison in 1910,
taking its name from the examination of the peaks and troughs of the wax disk
surface. The work is currently on show at the Generali Foundation, Vienna as
part of the show 'Geography and the Politics of Mobility' and was part produced
at Makrolab and the CCA.
