Recording Angels
Calum Stirling
Tuesday 8th to Sunday 13th of July
Glasgow Project Room, Osborne St, Glasgow

Buildings provide spaces for living, but are also de facto instruments,
giving shape to the sound of the world. Music and architecture are related
not only by metaphor, but also through concrete space.
Daniel Libeskind, Guardian, Saturday July 13, 2002

For this show the Glasgow based artist Calum Stirling presents a group of
wall, floor and soundworks works which address issues surrounding the design
of public and private space, the psychogeography of the macro and micro
living and the semantics of inert and fluxial materials. The installation
is designed as part showroom, public gathering space, workshop and private
living area. The artists will be adding elements to the installation during
the course of the show including recording sound works on his hand made
record maker.

Calum Stirling (b. Edinburgh 1965) Recent exhibitions include Collective
JukeBox 4.02, Kunstlerhaus Bremen (2003). Common Place, The Lighthouse,
