Hello I am sorry to inform you that the Impact and Wonderful Conference planned for Saturday 6 March has been cancelled.
Although we have had great feedback on the line-up of speakers it appears to be a terrible time of year for such events and that people are suffering from a kind of 'conference fatigue'. As a result have had a disappointing number of bookings, and it is not viable for us to run it. I can only apologise for the inconvenience and for upsetting your plans at late notice. And to very genuinely thank you for you subscribing to the event. If you have paid by cheque it will be returned to you, and payment by invoices, of course, will not be processed. However, Woody and Steina Vasulka will still be coming to London, and in conjunction with CARTE the Lux has organised a series of screenings and events. CARTE will be hosting a live screening/performance of their work with a Q&A session and discussion on Saturday evening. So if by chance you are going to be in London anyway we would like to offer you a complimentary ticket to this event. Steina Vasulka will present a live adaptation of her seminal tape VIOLIN POWER [1970-78], using a MIDI violin and customised software to process the video image in real time. Plus there will be a screening of ORBITAL OBSESSIONS [1975-77], a multi-layered, studio performance/exploration of reshaped video space.
