McAveety in his Cultural Policy Statement claims : "We have given careful thought to how we can make the vision a reality." If his vision is now set to be reality, why the need for yet more (12 MONTHS) expensive so-called consultation.
No doubt it's tough luck if our particular 'vision' doesn't equate with his ideology, as the language is of being governed as a 'sector' and this 'governance' being 'brought up to date'. I interpret 'brought up to date' to mean �Culture� will have to demonstrate tangible social gain [sic] in relation to the Executive�s wider public policy framework, with a distinct focus on social impact, as has been reiterated by the Executive and its cronies. If "The Commission [who will that be?] will be able to look beyond, and confront, stereotypical notions of culture" will it also seek to "confront" the new Labour hocus-pocus that professes not only that there is but that there should be a correlation between �Creativity� and economic competition: "The creativity of Scots � from the classroom to the boardroom � is the edge we need in a competitive world."?
