We are proud to announce the return of MISE EN SCENE to The Chateau on Saturday 22nd of May, this time in collaboration with BEYOND TV (http://wwww.beyondtv.org), media activists from Manchester, who will be presenting films, music, performance and anti-consumer merchandise along with the Mise en Scene show of short films/ animations, performers, music and surprises….£2 entry…7.30pm – 11.30pm.

Low Cost Digital Video Presentation
This presentation is designed as a sampler or preview to the more technical workshops about Low Cost Digital Video Creation and Distribution.
Talk with Video extracts.

Workshops - Low cost digital distribution.
These workshops are pitched at media activists using low end machines to network existing films via CDrom and the Internet.
The sessions are short and practical lastng about 30-40mins hour each, and ending with a hands on session to recap. They are also an excellent introduction to Video editing tools and Digital Media in general.
Session one - Capturing from DV camera to Premiere via Firewire. Triming clips in Premiere to make them ready to export.
Session Two - Exporting Video in Premiere to an encoded file using a Frameserving program. We will create Mpg1 VCD compatible files for CDR's and broadband Internet use and Real Media files for on-demand Internet streaming. Software used TmpegEnc, Real Producer, Avisynth frameserver.
Session Three - Making a CDrom / VCD. We'll look at creating a simple webpage interface for a CDRom using Mozilla composer. Then we'll find out how to burn the Video clips to either a CDrom for use in a computer [pc, mac, linux compatible] or a VCD for use in a DVD player. Software used Nero, Mozilla Composer.
