In an age where increasingly we are tied to the next consumer calendar point by shop windows everywhere, </x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>[chronicler]</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller> aims to be a lateral take on this trend, revisiting the calendar and the retail space from a different angle.

The Ficticious On Kawara - alex </x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>HETHERINGTON</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>
Alex </x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>HETHERINGTON</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller> is a Glasgow based new media artist.
In The Ficticious On Kawara, he will present seven date related art works referring to the first seven days of his life. They will be presented as a series of window mounted vinyl graphic designs based around the date painting phenomenon of the artist On Kawara merged with the graphic style of the design group M/M Paris. By pinning these two subjects together around such personally significant dates,</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller> HETHERINGTON</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller> investigates memory and identity shaped by the middle ground between the conceptual and theoretical and the popular, fashionable and immediate.
</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>HETHERINGTON</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller> works with the construction of popular culture, memory, social identity and cultural vocabularies. </x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>HETHERINGTON</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>’s recent work includes the film and web project Glasgowland, shown on Channel 4 TV, the ICA, EmergeD and as an installation at the show Memory, Salina Art Center, Kansas, USA. His writing has appeared in Stretcher (SF), The List, Transmission, and Sculpture Matters.
