Glasgow based artist niall MACDONALD will exhibit a new work, </x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>(</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>INR</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>)</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>, in the [vsf] from 2nd may - 9th may 2004.
A community of corrugated-iron shelters will be installed inside the shop front, each large enough for only one individual. This will be a scene of protection, defence, confinement and constraint. The shelters function in the space as a form of "Do-it-Yourself defence" and reflect something of the anxiety and absurdity of the ideological struggle between the personal and political.
MACDONALD has been living and working in Glasgow for </x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>the past </x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>six years and is a member of the artists</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>'</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller> group Something Haptic.
