Festival Information
Further to the huge success of Document 1 in September 2003, we are
currently in the process of producing Document 2. The festival will run
from 17th-20th September 2004. The venue remains the same as last year,
but with additional screening facilities. We are now inviting
submissions for this years festival. The closing date for all
submissions to Document 2 will be 2nd July 2004.

Programme
We aim to screen a large and diverse selection of documentary film which
will offer the viewer a broader understanding of issues not often spoken
about, ignored, or not registered on any platform, which are concerned
with human rights issues.

The festival will screen work from home and abroad - work that due to
particular social, cultural
and political contexts, the makers would have difficulty in screening in
the place of origin. There will
be a series of events, discussions and debates with film makers,
journalists/ correspondents and people who have experienced conflict and
abuses of their human rights in their own or another country. These
issues will include:

Miscarriages of Justice
Asylum
Eviction
Poverty
Mental health
Social exclusion
Targets in war and conflict
Africa
Palestine/Israel
Central/Eastern European work from the E.U. accession
countries.(including Baltic states).
Roma, Gypsies and Travellers
Immigration and Asylum at home and abroad.
Kurdish issues past and present.
Central Asian former Soviet republics.
Mental Health and Social Care
HIV/Aids
Young people
Women
Human Trafficking

Document 2 will be happy to view any other films which do not fall into
these specific categories but are relevant within a broad understanding
of Human Rights Issues.
