Richard Stallman Talk in Edinburgh 3 pm Thursday 27th of May

Richard Stallman will speak and about the goals and philosophy of the
Free Software Movement, and the status and history of the GNU operating
system, which in combination with the kernel Linux is now used by tens
of millions of users world-wide.

Richard Stallman is the principal author of the GNU C Compiler, the GNU
symbolic debugger (GDB), GNU Emacs, and various other GNU programs.
Stallman currently serves as president of the Free Software Foundation.
He is the author of the GNU General Public License (GPL), which is
intended to guarantee your freedom to share and change free software--to
make sure the software is free for all its users.

This is a few streets away from the top of Leith Walk.

All are welcome, do come along if interested in free software.

Depending on his schedule we hope that Richard Stallman will be there
for about 1/2 hour. He will not be giving a talk there but would like to
meet and socialise with anyone with connections to Free Software in
Edinburgh.

It would be really good to see people who are wishing to build a world
community with our means of doing held in common meet up with those who try and make this happen in area of software.


Our creative urges unleased as the digital commons is our work/play ground.
