A well attended forum to discuss the coming changes in arts structures and funding was held in the CCA Glasgow yesterday 24th May. Genially chaired by Klaus Jung, a wide variety of ideas and questions were aired. About 60 artists from a wide geographical spread discussed potential opportunities and dangers of the coming era, the possible politicisation of arts funding, the likely localisation of funding via local councils, and the lack of representation of the visual arts at the ear of the decision makers. More info later; this grew out of the "Save Tramway " campaign, but it is already apparent that artists will need to organise fast to have any influence in the current phase of "consultation" so it's up to YOU to get involved if you're not already... gair dunlop
