I have been lurking in Ambit for a while and thought I might at last introduce myself.
I'm currently working at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway. It's a misnomer, because it has an art institute and music school as well. Anyway I'm in the computer science department here, though I'm not at all technically competent... My interests are largely to do with Interaction Design, artistic use of technology, hacking new technologies to do interesting things, etc. I'm actually a social scientist and do ethnographic studies of various types, especially to do with the ways in which people use new technologies.
I've been working a wee bit with Christian Nold from the Royal College of Art on Biomapping (www.biomapping.net) and do the odd collaboration with colleagues there.
Just now I spend my time between Trondheim, Glasgow and Amsterdam where there are some really interesting people in what I suppose you might call the new media scene. I've got a small involvement with Doors of Perception at the moment. Anyway, I get the odd thing through electronic art lists here in Norway and through my connections in the Netherlands, so maybe I can be useful in forwarding the odd thing I see that might be relevant.
And I'll never complain about the weather in Glasgow after experiencing Trondheim in the Autumn...
