After the upgrade from shindig 1.1 to 2.0 it seems that gadget loading is much
faster. Furthermore, by coincidence I ran into this issue caused by one of the
default gadgets URLs not returning the call (no response at all). Since the
gadget management service did not provide a read time out on retrieval of the
gadget spec, it just waited and waited for the response to return. So I added a
timeout of 5 seconds.
