There is one thing to note about this: gadgets developed on the Amdatu stack
and registered from an OSGi bundle may be registered whiteboard style, but we
still need a service to register external gadgets. So although we could support
the whiteboard style registration of gadgets, we still need a (REST) service
for registration of any external gadgets.
