Let's not forget that the results of any scan can contain columns of data
that can be sorted on.  

The columns can be things like:
Sector
Industry
Volume today
50 dma of Volume
ADX
RSI
Last year's closing price
% change from last year
Or any other piece of data (technical or fundamental) that is in the
database or can be calculated from fields in the database.

I got to admit. I also like the idea of being able to just hit the down
arrow key (aka page down, scroll down) once you are in
scan/backtest/exploration/realtime-quote ouput windows in order to view the
next chart for a stock. This would make it consistant with the way the
watchlist window currently works.
