I was looking at another package that had some features (and ones
planned) that Amibroker didn't and took their latest beta for a test
drive. You would not believe the data pull difference with Tomasz's
eSignal plugin. Tomasz is 4 times faster at pulling data than this
other package. Amibroker takes an AMAZING 6 SECONDS to pull 240 days
of minute data from eSignal. I shutter to think how long a tick data
pull would take on the other one.
The reason for this is obvious: Tomasz is the consummate software
engineer. He really cares about making everything as fast as
possible because he knows how crucial efficiency is in a real-time
environment...optimize, optimize, optimize. Many of the other
competitors just keep slapping on layers and layers of more complex
code and then blame the speed of your hardware for any slowness.
