Hello,

1. I am not sure what version of Quotes PLus plugin you are running.
Two possible answers:
a) you are not running the latest Quotes plus plugin (1.6.0)

b) the "ERH" symbol in your Quotes Plus database has status different than zero,
which means that it is marked as not active while your retrieval settings are "only active symbols (with issue status = 0)"

Certain symbols in Quotes PLus database are marked incorrectly and this means they are skipped when trying to retrieve
only symbols with status = 0. In newest plugin (1.6.0) this option is by default turned off, and it retrieves all symbols that
have at least one valid quote.

2. This is so because names are retrieved only during "retrieve" process.

Yes that works.  However:
1.  Why doesn't "
File>Database Settings>Configure/>Retrieve" do the job.  Isn't that what it is meant for?

2.  Symbol>New loads ERH.  But, its name, Evergreen Utls & High Incm F Com, is not displayed in AmiBroker though it is in QP.

Subject: RE: [amibroker] Quotes Plus Mutual Funds in AB

Bob and all who have replied: thanks for your responses.  I am still having problems.

I STILL cannot see ERH in my AB program.  I can plot it with Quotes Plus charts.

I have rebooted. I have switched from external to local storage.  I have repopulated (retreive) and had to check Mutual Funds in the dialog box that came up.

Something is clearly not right.  When I click on Retrieve multiple times, I can see that it goes and gets over 10000 symbols---EACH TIME.  I know that when using my FastTrack database, if I click Retrieve and no new symbols have been added, the process is over right away, ie, there is nothing to go get.  With the QP data plugin, it will go and "get" the full list of symbols each time I click on Retrieve.  Does not seem right.

Plus, I still can not see ERH in Amibroker.

How about somebody trying this experiment for me...go to Database settings > Configure > see if Mutual Funds are still checked (in mine it never stays checked) and see if you can retrieve any symbols.

This seems like one for Support.

Thanks,

Ken

PS: why would being a Closed Fund and not a Mutual Fund affect this problem?  I don't think it should. I just checked various other closed end funds and can see them all in Amibroker.

again, it's a Closed End fund, not a Mutual fund.

ERH is there in AB in the QP3 database

You either need to re-populate or fresh

By the way it has been on fire for the last week or so

I have no problem seeing that symbol. You may need to refresh the symbols. Under File menu/Database Settings/Configure/Retrieve (check mutual funds box first).

I normally do that every weekend to synchonize the symbols.

Subject: [amibroker] Quotes Plus Mutual Funds in AB

I am a new user of Quotes Plus to drive data to AB (vs TC2000) and I have been doing ok with the transition.

I just now retrieved all of the mutual funds I have been downloading, and can use them just like any stock symbol.

There is an interesting closed end fund named ERH (Evergreen) which is in the QP database (I can plot it using the QP charting program), but Amibroker can not see it.

Any QP data users here who could see whether you can see/plot ERH in Amibroker from the QP database?  If you can, can you speculate why the symbol does not show up on mine.

I have reloaded AB (but not rebooted the computer), but I wonder why that would make a difference.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ken
