I just checked my Program Files where I had Ab 64 installed origionally, and I see that I have removed it.
I did not try to run them at the same time. When I decided to stay with the 32 bit version, I apparently removed the 64 bit version. Can I install both the 32bit version in "Program Files (x86)" and also the 64bit in "Program Files" without them conflicting with one another? If so, can I run the two simultaneously without conflict? If so, can I backtest using 64bit version and IB's intraday data? If so, anything special I have to do? Again, thank you for your help. -- Keith malc fiveeightninenine wrote: You are right. The 64 bit programs install to program files, the 32 bit install to program files (x86). I have never tried, so I'm not sure if it matters if you place them in a different directory. I run AB 64 bit from the program files directory. --- On Sun, 3/29/09, Keith McCombs <kmcco...@engineer. com> wrote: From: Keith McCombs <kmcco...@engineer. com> Subject: [amibroker] AB on XP-64bit? To: amibro...@yahoogrou ps.com Date: Sunday, March 29, 2009, 10:58 AM I just got my new system up and running with XP-64bit SP2, and want to install AB Pro 5.20, and use it to its full advantage. I also want to eventually use AB with IB. My XP-64bit has two folders for programs, "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)". I guess that "Program Files" may be for 64bit programs, and "Program Files (x86)" for 32bit ones. Is that correct? Does it really matter? Which folder should I install AB in, or does it matter? What about IB TWS? Are there any other questions I should be asking before proceeding with the installation? Thanks for your help. -- Keith
