Having spent the last few weeks into data base troubleshooting see previous
posts on disappearing charts, still not fixed, I have some thoughts!!

 

First what version are you using?  The reason is under
help>data>troubleshooting we have (I believe) under 5.0 help and 5.26 help
slightly different ways to look at the problem. TJ changed some file names
thus you need the correct file name. Give that a try. I think 5.0 had a
better way of looking for the problem.

 

2nd, Back up, Back up, Back up: Run two computers with your AB, I ended up
going thru 5 different computers/data bases trying to solve my problem
(still no joy).

 

3rd , If you can see the symbols under the data tree with windows explorer
they are still there, just get Ami to see them which there are TWO ways to
do it and one way to verify.

 

4th Below you said win explorer can see them but not Ami, if you start to
change inside a data base do it on a back up and remember Ami has to start
up again to see any changes.

Yes- I have done that and check to make sure "Preferences" was looking in
the right folder also. But, both are looking in the correct folder for the
data. That is was is confusing me..Why can I see the tickers when I look via
windows explorer but Amibroker does not see the tickers (even when it shows
its looking in the right folder)

I prefer to not re-load the database from the http://www.icc-az.com/ web
site. Mostly do to the fact that this site does not have the yahoo indexes (
"^") that I use and I have many addcomposites that I created also... It
would be better for me if I could get Amibroker to "find" the tickers that I
see via windows explorer.

Start AmiBroker. Got to File > Open Database... make sure it is pointed to
the same folder. Let us know.
