I have the 1300 quote limit with IQFEED. I have 6000 or so stocks in my
database. I break those stocks into watch lists with fewer than 1300 symbols
each. I run an exploration with "wait for backfill" turned on for each
watchlist. After each run, I disconnect and reconnect IQFEED. I have had
corrupt data problems in the past, but I don't think I am having them now and I
don't think they were related to this particular update strategy. I assume
that what I am describing could be programmed to work without my intervention
but I am not the one to do it.
When I run a backtest on all the securities, I disconnect IQFEED.
When I use IQFEED in realtime mode (with Excel, not Amibroker) I limit myself
to 1300 symbols. When I say "realtime" mode, I mean I am monitoring specific
prices currently. I think "realtime" to others may mean a feed that has
realtime capability regardless of whether you are using the feed for realtime
monitoring or just filling out your database.
