Yep, happens here on 3.5 also, when you are not connected to a server.
I reported it to [EMAIL PROTECTED] along with a few other bugs.
Also i reported an old remote exploit that still exists in 3.5 that may
cause amirc to crash, or just stuff up your fonts.  No reply yet..  AmIRC
needs more attention.. 

I bet if there was some remote hole in AmIRC that allowed people to execute
commands on your system found, it would still take them 2 or 3 months or
even longer to bring out an update.. where as if something like that was
found in a unix/linux progr.. its fixed within days.
