When running AmIRC, select "Use IdentD", this will remove the ~ prefix from
your username. IIRC (I can't check atm because MiamiDx is running) the way
to config identd in GENESiS is in GENESiS Prefs/Database/services/ and
enable auth. You might also have to look around in the inetd part as well
to check you have this enabled.
