It is definately the fault of the Linksys Router. It is effectively
"protecting you from H4XX0rZ". Wow, mad l33t of it. Honestly, I got
pissed and took mine back, but that was 1.5 years ago. I would hope by now
the firmware would work much better. If I remember correctly, you'll have
to turn DHCP off, and setup static IP addresses for all your machines so
that you can forward ports 1024 to 6000. I know of another person that is
running one that managed on making some sort of plugin for Amirc, I'll
contact him and see what he says.
If you're interested in why you can't DCCSend it's because what is really
happening is when you hit the DCC Send button, you really send the person a
CTCP request which is going out your already existing IRC port (usually
6667) and over the IRC server, then if they accept it, they attempt to
connect directly to your ports, which is blocked by the linksys. The
linksys only allows connections to be completed when you start them
When you recieve data DCCs, you are actually answering their CTCP request
and are going out of your "firewall" to initiate the DCC.... since you
opened that port thru the firewall, the connection can take place.
