Hi everyone on the AM reflector.
First, I want to say I am getting worried again that there are very few
AM reflector messages coming through.... I hope the system is still working
OK.
I was just visiting the Manitoba Amateur Radio Museum (MARM) at Austin,
Manitoba. They have a few hundred boatanchors and various radio artifacts
that I suggest as a great place to visit for any ham operator. They do have
a web site with photos.
The radios in their main museum building are well kept, but in a nearby
storage building where they keep newly received rigs and/or duplicate rigs,
they are having problems with small specks of whitish mold appearing on the
metal cases of the radios. We never checked, but the mold is likely also on
the inside. The reason appears to be due to poor circulation in the
building... it was built too air tight.
However, they need suggestions on how to clean the mold spots and
prevent it from spreading. The only suggestion so far is to wipe the rigs
down with a wet cloth soaked in Javex.
Any help would be appreciated. I will forward all information to the
curator.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards.... Ron VE4SR
