Sorry Tony..I agree with what a few others have said..you get what you are
willing to pay for and what the market will bear. It just flat costs that
much if you want that high level of restoration..if not, then buy a good
lesser unit for $300 plus but don't knock the guys that are willing and able
to pay for a special unit which is what this is...look at how much many of
your compadres are willing to spend for a "dressed out" Harley which I
personally think is as nuts as you think $500 is for a "dressed out" Ranger
is.I haven't seen any older fully restored collectible Harleys going other
than at premium prices. It is all in how the individual chooses to value
something. For what it's worth a $275 Ranger purchased new would have cost
approx. $1300 plus in today's money. So how many average guys bought
Ranger's and Globe Kings in 1955? It's all relative and a personal valuation
decision for the seller and buyer. I would not sell either of my Ranger 2's
for less than $400 in the condition that they are in, and they are stock.
How much would a fully restored GK500 bring today? Just my personal
