in 62 when i got my ticket (swl with a knightkit space spanner for 3 yr before that). dad and mom loaded me the money to but a used sx 101A and globe champ 350A. i mowed yards for over 2 yrs to pay it back. my friend Clay WA4JQR who lived 2 houses down was well off. his mom bought him a new ht 37 ht 33 sx 111 month later he got a hq 180ac vhf . she had electric company put a 60 telepole in back yard with barn door tracks running up it wench at bottom and a hy-gain 2 ele quad on top. I am still hamming and he never renewed his ticket the first time.
