My feelings are wither you choose a 5100 or a 5100B, there are built like a 
German Panther Tank.
Unlike a Johnson Valiant that sounds kinda flat tonal quality, I think the 
audio is better on the B&W and actually has some assemblance of 
fidelity.Valiants have to be modified to get a more pleasing sound.
Although I wish the output was greater on RF power output on a 5100 or 5100B 
than 75 watts.
It does sound as good as my globe champion 300A or maybe even better!
Another complaint is there NOT as easy to work on as a Johnson 
transmitters,WRL Globe champions, Globekings, or a Hallicrafter HT-32 
series.But, When the repairs are done and new caps are in,you will have the 
satisfaction in  saying what a well designed transmitters they really are as 
in dependability, sound quality, and stability!
