Thanks for your nice note. I will print your message and root around for one or more 7591A tubes. It seems like an odd type that I might not have noted as anything special. I have a decent tube stock but it's all conventional receiving types and a small supply of transmitting tubes. But it can't hurt to look.
Meanwhile, if you can please hold on to the 808's. Four would probably be overkill for me but 2 of them would be a good thing. This is a single-ended final that I am going to modulate with push-pull 801s because those match up to the 30's Thordarson mod TF that is currently in the rig. The original final was an Eimac 50T and the original modulators were push-pull-parallel 2A3s. But all of those tubes have the approximate value of gold bars today. The 801's aren't cheap but I happen to have some on hand since another TX I have uses them. This is a beam power tube the size of a 6V6 with EL-34 type ratings (well almost). They were used in many 60's vintage HI-FI amps such as Fisher's, Eico's, etc. Maybe you are sitting on some 7591A's?? I use the 7591A in my Central electronics 20A, where these tubes (and other changes) allowed me to up the power of the 20A from 15 watts PEP to 60 watts PEP. I know can dribe my GG 4X 572B linear to 150 watts AM carrier output from the 20A exciter.
