...Broadband Power Line Communications
which is being pushed by various industry lobby groups to the FCC. If
enacted, the potential for wideband interference to the HF and VHF
spectrum is very real...

Not to mention the interference that we will cause them and get blamed for.
As expected, on the last day of filing before the deadline, most of the
comments by the industry appeared. Typcially they extol the virtues of PLC
broadband, with assurances that it will cause no harmful interference to
radio users, then proceed to plead for "rapid deployment", arguing against
delays while tests would be conducted. They are very short on details of how
interference will be mitigated, but are quick to plead that the concerns of
the amateur community are "exaggerated".
I haven't attempted to tackle the ARRL's response, since it is over 100
pages long! Even with broadband cable recently installed, I haven't felt up
to downloadig the PDF file.
The comments make for some interesting reading. Hope you got yours in on
time. Of course, there is still a 30-day "reply comment" period left to get
in your 2c worth as you respond to other people's comments.
