I run 40 at night and have no problems with TVs, even in my own house. If I bothered the TV my wive would end the session immediately. I am running 100 watts and the only interferance problem I have is the intercom system. One of these days I will have to see if I can fux that.

Oh,
Maybe that's it, I don't go up on 20 meters much at all.

20 meters seems to be the DX band, and I never had much interest
in talking with people in far away places, what to talk about?
Any AM dx operation on 20 meters?

I don't have a 20 meter antenna, but could likely tune up
the 80 or 40 meter dipole with the antenna tuner.

I mostly stick to operating 40 or 80 meters on weekend days, to
prevent complaints from the neighbors and wife running the VCR.

I would like to operate at night, but 80 meters is often a real
mess, the streetlamp outside my house goes on and off, generating
a huge amount of impulse noise almost constantly, and I suspect I
would get into phones and other cheap electronics close by.

80 at night seems quite clickish also, unlike 40 where different
people are always shuffling through, which makes things very interesting.

I should try 80 at night, maybe reduce the power a bit and see if
I get any angry calls.

I have to call the electric company about the streetlamp, I am tempted
to shoot it out. I notice most seem to go on and off constantly, why
they could not come up with a more reliable setup is beyond me.

Wish I could get up there and unplug the light sensor and disable
the darn thing.

Brett:

There is a vintage SSB net on 20 meters. Lots of talk about tube stuff.

Pete,
I am sure its around, but I rarely hear much even remotely
interesting on ssb.
I don't listen a lot, but used to try to get into qso's
when I had the kws1 and the kwm2a.

I am sure the Collins owners talk about tube rigs a lot, but
from what I hear, there are a bunch of groups from one end
of the phone
band
to the other, not saying much of interest to me, and very little
in the way of technical discussions.
