I, personally, have not seen a Champion so I cannot say about them being the
same, but I would almost bet they are.

Unfortunately I do not have my manual for the 500 but , as I recall, the
output cap is 250 uuf. If that is what the Champion has, they are probably
the same. In my manual, I measured the size of the form, the length and
number of turns. The coil I have is the same as the phenol coils and could
take a picture of it with my camera an email it to you. What I don't have
is the number of turns for the 80 meter coil or the 160 meter coil.

The wire on the 15, 20, 40 meter coil is about #16 or 14 and is wide spaced
for the higher frequencies then closer wound for the 40 meter section. I
hate to make these statements because I can't get to my information, but
someone here can tell you. The 40/20/15 meter coil is 2 3/8 outside
diameter and has 2 3/4 turns spaced at about 1/4 inch apart. Then it
continues for an additional 3 turns for 20 meters. At that point the
spacing of the wire drops to about 3/8 inch for an additional 10 turns.
Each tap is arranged to face the bandswitch. The 80 meter and part of the
160 meter coil are the same diameter but very close wound with varnished
wire, but I don't know how many turns for 80 meters. Then part of the 160
meter coil is on another form below the chassis.

Since I am not familiar with the Champion series, I don't know if that
applies to it. If you want the picture, let me know.
