Well, if you do a search on Prehlinger Archive ...that is if you remove
the h that is in the name....you will go right to it. Anyone who cant
do that really does need his help it furnishing the download.
Especially since when the search is entered with the wrong spelling,
the search engine actually prompts you to change the spelling...so its a
no brainer.

Wrong. NOWHERE does he provide the url for downloading the material. He only
states that the film is "available from the Prehlinger Archives."
If one has never heard of the Prehlinger archive what does that mean?
If he was doing anything remotely akin to a public service he would put the URL
- not some thinly veiled attempt to give his "service" credibility.
It took me several days at 15 hours a day
to get them all downloaded and recorded on a CD. Some people dont want
to do all that labor.
Furthermore, if it takes you 15 hours a day to download the NOAA images and you
do it manually you are doing a lot of work that should be an automated ptrocess
and you need better web harveting software - get real.

This is an unfair characterization of this person. He/She states in the

of their availability. He/She is offering a service to the buyer to do
the download and put it on a CD. There is nothing wrong with this.
I do a similar service on a CD that I created by downloading ALL the
NOAA navigation charts (over 1800 of them) that are publicly available
for download on the internet. It took me several days at 15 hours a day
to get them all downloaded and recorded on a CD. Some people dont want
to do all that labor.
I also tell prospective buyers exactly where they can go to download the
charts for themselves, but people still elect to come to me for my service.
The guy/guys who are downloading and selling BAMA manuals are NOT
telling the prospective customer where the manuals are coming
from...this is a horse of a different color.
BUT...they are not bootlegging them! They are available for download to
all comers. They are just being dishonest in that they are not telling
their customers that they could get them for free if they wanted to. If
they did, it still would not be a bad deal....if you have ever stood in
line to get onto that site you know very well that a "downloaded onto CD
service" is worth something.

You can download for free (and with the archives blessings ) from
Part 1
http://www.archive.org/movies/details-db.php?collection=prelinger&collectionid=07951a
Part 2
http://www.archive.org/movies/details-db.php?collection=prelinger&collectionid=07951b
Probably the same guy is bootlegging and selling manuals from BAMA!
