A 6L6 in any book is listed at 360 volts Maximum. The 1614 is listed at 550 volts ICAS and, of course, the unmodified Ranger uses 550 Volts DC on the final and modulator. We once had a post that the 1614 is really only a selected for high voltage service 6L6 and it sounds reasonable to me. In fact, the 1614 is listed as a RF Transmitting tube in the RCA Transmitting tube manuals but, alas, the 6l6 is not.
