Just as a point of curiosity, where are you metering the grid 
current/bias voltage?

Do a google search for "negative feedback" (with quotes) and wa1hlr.

There's some great articles on the subject, including one about negative 
feedback on a T-368!

(I think there were five 1Meg Ohm resistors going back to the cathode of 
a 12AX7(?) that in turn was driving a 6AQ5.)

Interesting stuff.
