Hi Jim,
I forgot to mention that, but yes, I have loaded it into a 50 dummy load
(heath cantenna). Same results. And
I also loaded it into a 60w light bulb. Same result.
The long wire is the only load that it seems to like.

Try it into the dummy load and if it is normal, then your antennas are
exhibiting some reactance that you will have to address.
