On another note. In 1956 during the Suez Crisis we had our F-84Fs flying cover for the B-47s out over the Caribbean. The F-84s were flying at 39,000ft. The F-84s had ARC-33s. We could hear the radio traffic in the shop at Bergstom AFB in Austin Tx.

Only problem was the ARC 13 was in the rear compartment and 13 ft to the ground. A few were dropped trying to get them out. Sure did have good coverage from 40,000 ft. Hi Hi (wonder how may will admit to using one on the ham bands in flight) > > On the survey not much of a surprise Most AM'ers I know fit in that catagory. Most worked their way up through electronic service in one way or another. Very interesting survey Bill K5PML > > > > > > > > > ______________________________________________________________ > Our Main Website: http://www.amfone.net > AMRadio mailing list > List Rules (must read!): http://w5ami.net/amradiofaq.html > List Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/amradio > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.html > Post: mailto:[email protected] > To unsubscribe, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with > the word unsubscribe in the message body. > ______________________________________________________________ Our Main Website: http://www.amfone.net AMRadio mailing list List Rules (must read!): http://w5ami.net/amradiofaq.html List Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/amradio Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.html Post: mailto:[email protected] To unsubscribe, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body.
