It's great to see that everyone is in favor for a 0.95 release, but no
one asked me about the status on the projects I have been working on.

ok, sorry, what is your status on your projects? :p
well, I though everyone was stalled and noone did anything.. and my idea was "leave it like that!" . The doc is pretty good like it is and it can be updated later (I don't know if it was added, but we suggested that the FAQ and Help would open the browser to amsn's site unless there is no connection...).. so we can release, and update it as we go (especially the FAQ which will be built on user's comments) The website needs to be finished, and I though it was pretty stable already... I would suggest you finish it up as soon as possible, without major testing, and release a thread in the forums and say "here's the new website, can you all do the QA for us, play with the site and see if there are any 404...). Updating the download page to 0.95 packages is sometihng in the process of the release, it's not something that should be finished before the release... (it's at the same level as creating the packages for example). Anything irrelevant to the users is not important, like the control panel, the bug system, etc.. as long as it doesn't break anything once it's ready... for the rest, you can do it fast, and make sure it's updated in time... I mean, screenshots are in the process of the release, plugins and skins are a little bit important, but other documents are not that important (like how to access CVS), these documents/links that are irrelevant to the masses that will come to the website soon, you can leave it and fix it once you have time, after the release...

Status and Todo:

* Website: ~ 85% complete: make sure all links are correct, update
download page links to 0.95 address of packages, fix features page
links, check skins links, check plugins, create and upload
screenshots, point documents links to correct locations, get more
developer photos (can wait), integrate control panel... poll will
probably have to wait.

* FAQ: ~95% complete: almost done with another draft. few things to fix.

* Installer Doc: big laundry list.. haven't had time to organize it.

* Compile Doc: (same as installer doc.)

Things to think about:

* How are we going to deal with bug reports? Karol's bug report system?
I think it's already integrated, right ?

* Is there any way we could install trac? http://www.edgewall.com/trac/
Yes, we can, we just need to install it :P but yeah, I think we should, we just need time to do it

* are we going to continue with tiki-wiki, or could we migrate it to
something like trac?
I suggest we keep the wiki for everything else besides our TODO and anything related to trac could be in trac, the rest in the wiki (I think trac has a wiki too... but we'll see, for the moment, it's not important, we could migrate it later IF we think trac's wiki is better).

* If we do not install trac, we need to start keeping a milestone,
goals, and roadmap page so we're not prolonging another release.
with or without trac we need all this... but it's still not an urgent matter for 0.95 release...

This is a lot for just me to handle, so I'm doing the best that I can
to get it finished in a reasonable amount of time.

don't worry, you don't need to do all this, as I said, just make sure the website is stable, ready to get out and ask users to test it in the upcoming week or 2 (while we do the packaging, etc...)

cool,
I think it sets it up.. and I think, as Alvaro said, the opinion of the
users is clear already... If we (devels) know that 0.95 is not complete
and all, and we still want to release, then it means users will also want
to release...
I'll let the poll go until the week-end and then I'll do my best to find a
little time and help in the release... unless someone requests the poll
goes a little longer...
Do you think anything should be done before the release ?
here's my points :
- check that 0.95.1 will be considered newer than 0.95 and 0.95.2 newer
than 0.95.1 in the auto-update system...

Maybe I'll think about other things before we release...
