Hi, > Be careful with what you say, you just shocked me ! > You say I quote : "200 are killed by Bush and Jews". Israël is Jude but Jews > aren't Israël there are many Jews in other places of the world and they don't > ask anything to anybody ! Well obviously he meant Israelis, and all Israelis are Jews. The fact that there are Jews in the rest of the world does not mean his statement is wrong. Maybe he should have specified Israeli Jews, it probably would have been more clear. It is the same reason Kakaroto is bringing up this whole issue. What is happening makes all Muslims accountable for the actions of a few. When he reads in the newspaper : "Muslims behead western journalist" instead of "Extremist militant group of Islamic belief beheads western journalist". It's exactly the same as saying "200 are killed by Jews" vs "200 are killed by extremist Israeli religious groups". Now imagine this repeated over and over again for years and years and you get angry people. Just this once "shocked" you and makes you want to stop the thread immediately. I don't know if you are of Jewish descent, but if you are then you probably understand a little bit how most Muslims have been felling for the past few years. And this wasn't headline news on the biggest news company in the world, it was on a relatively small mailing list. I am not trying to offend anyone, just trying to put make a point.
> I think this thread shouldn't have begun and should > be stopped immediately. I suggest you continue that in PM... I think (like > Jérome) that this Mailing list isn't a place where we should exchange > political ideas... Even if it is off topic... It probably isn't. But I never shy away from political discussions. They are the only way to share knowledge and ideas, and bring people closer together. If the discussion is done in a civilised and moderated way, following certain rules of conduct, then they are of great benefit to the participants.
