Gentoo will still need a tar.gz or a tar.bz2, that's why we should provide :
1 Autopackage
1 Installer for Windows
2 DMGs for MacOSX : one for ppc only (for macosx 10.3.9), and one univ
(for macosx 10.4 and above). J, correct me if i'm wrong.
1 tarball : either a tar.gz or a tar.bz2 (i prefer tar.bz2 due to the
smaller size of it).
That's should be efficient.
