No need to. I just tried the Ubuntu CD (Kubuntu actually) and it worked 
perfectly - just a few days ago on my brother's PC. Oddly enough, the DVD 
wouldn't boot (wtf? weren't they supposed to have the same kernel?) So 
it's highly recommended ;)

OK, now you installed Windows, you can download a nice and pretty and 
beautiful Linux installation DVD!
